Game started with a cold shower for Torpedo. Ivan Morozov opened the score 47 secons after face-off. And before the break, Shane Prince with his 2 goals confirmed the home team's lead - 3:0. Nizhny Novgorod had chances to respond: Kirill Voronin and Vasily Atanasov could score in fast attacks. But they didn't switch on the lights above Spartak's goal.
In the second period Bobby Lynch with a great shot under the crossbar scored first goal for Torpedo. But unfortunately, Nizhny Novgorod had only 12 seconds to enjoy that success. William Bitten with his first KHL goal brought the difference back to three goals - 4:1.
Beginning of third period greeted fans with a ring of the crossbar after shot by Vyacheslav Voinov. Soon Maxim Letunov and Nikita Artamonov had good chances to score. In the end of game Sergei Goncharuk made second goal using quick attack! The team fought until the final whistle, but didn't make second comeback in-a-row in games with Moscow opponents.
